Most bookstores on the tours are fully accessible; for support with accessibility needs, please email accessibility@bookweb.org.

Amazing Books & Records is an independent used bookstore in business since 2013. We sell well-selected books in most genres and subjects, host twice-weekly Book 'n Beer nights, and have popular and enduring promotions.
Ground floor is accessible, the basement is not.

Blythe Books is an independent used bookstore with a curated selection of popular and modern books for all ages, as well as a large offering of titles from local indie authors. Additionally, we operate as a neighborhood community center, opening our doors for local artists, workshops, and creators.
Front entrance has concrete steps with railings on both sides. Back entrance has one step onto a small porch and another into the store.

Since 1984, City Books has been a home for creativity, discussion, and literature in Pittsburgh. The bookshop features great lighting, a gender-neutral bathroom, free Wi-Fi, and soft jazz. We are pleased to fulfill special orders of new & old books, and custom curation requests to suit all budgets.
City Books is not wheelchair accessible. There are two steps up (and no railing) from the sidewalk.

City of Asylum creates a thriving community for writers, readers, and neighbors. We provide sanctuary to endangered literary writers, so that they can continue to write and their voices are not silenced. Our bookstore specializes in translated works and we are dedicated to breaking down borders.
Fully accessible.

Mystery Lovers Bookshop is the region's only mystery themed independent bookstore!  Founded in 1990, we have been “thrilling” readers with our mystery selection for over 35 years! We are more than mystery, with an expansive selection of popular fiction, romantasy, literary gifts & children's books!
Fully accessible.

The Penguin Bookshop has been in town since 1929. We are a beautiful 1,100 square foot store with all new books. We are located just 12 miles from the Pittsburgh airport and 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Sewickley is a bucolic, leafy suburb of Pittsburgh, filled with boutiques and unique offerings.
Fully accessible.

Riverstone Books is a general interest independent bookstore with two locations in Pittsburgh, featuring a highly curated selection of new books, gifts, toys and games. Our first location opened in 2017 and the second  in 2021. We have large children's departments at both stores.
Fully accessible.

Spark Books is a children's only bookstore with a focus on creating joy and memories around literacy in an intentionally welcoming space. We have a small art studio in our space and have a robust non-author event schedule with art classes, book clubs, workshops, storytime etc.
Fully accessible.

Stay Gold Books is an independent, family-owned bookshop selling new books and gifts in Regent Square. We want to enable our visitors to discover and connect to what is “gold” in this world.
Store is accessible, the restroom is two steps up.

Vintage Max has something for everyone; all genres in new, used, vintage, and antique.  We host several book clubs and creative events throughout the month, including painting classes and open mic nights for music, poetry, and comedy. Oh, and there's chocolate, art supplies, and a foster cat!
Store is accessible, the restroom is downstairs.

White Whale Bookstore is a family-owned, general interest bookstore in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood. Since 2016, White Whale has aimed to be a community hub — a place for engagement and conversation. It’s a thrill to share stories, recommendations, and to be a part of Pittsburgh’s thriving literary community.
Fully accessible, has ramp if needed.

Woolly Bear Books and Gifts is a young bookshop (established October 2024!) that sells new books for all ages alongside a variety of eclectic gifts. We favor literature that promotes nature and the environment and seek to fill the shop with both educational and irreverent items to peruse.
Fully accessible.
